For Nonprofits
Nonprofit information
Nonprofits throughout Washington State improve our communities by providing social, educational, cultural and charitable services, and by promoting economic development in distressed ares. Many nonprofits need legal assistance to stabilize their operations and increase their capacity to serve their constituents, but many cannot afford to pay for an attorney's business-related legal assistance without compromising their charitable services.
Does your nonprofit need business legal assistance but can't afford to pay for it for an attorney? Check here to see if your organization may be eligible for free legal help through WAACO. If you would like to apply for legal assistance, please review our application procedures, download and complete our application form, and email it to contact@waaco.org. Your completed application must also be accompanied by a check for $50.00, payable to WAACO and mailed to WAACO at PO Box 2134, Seattle, WA 98111-2134. This is a nonrefundable screening/placement fee. If you have questions about your needs or eligibility, please call 1-866-288-9695.
Please note that there is a different application form for organizations that need initial incorporation assistance (in other words, if you are not currently an existing entity). Organizations that need assistance in incorporating or applying for 501(c)(3) status should review the requirements for startup organizations and complete the Startup Application. Your completed application must also be accompanied by a check for $50.00, payable to WAACO and mailed to WAACO at PO Box 2134, Seattle, WA 98111-2134. This is a nonrefundable screening/placement fee.
