Mission
WAACO's mission is to promote community development and organizational capacity-building in Washington State by assisting charitable and community-based nonprofit organizations and low-income microentrepreneurs to obtain free legal assistance on business-related matters.
What We Do
Since 2004, WAACO has been connecting needy nonprofit organizations in Washington State with lawyers who will assist them, pro bono (without charge), on non-litigation legal matters. WAACO recruits volunteer attorneys to represent eligible organizations and uses its best efforts to place matters as soon as possible. WAACO itself, however, does not provide legal representation, and cannot guarantee that it can find a volutneer to help every eligible organization.

If you are an attorney licensed in Washington State with experience in business, contract, real estate, intellectual property, or tax matters, or with access to a mentor or supervising attorney with that experience, find out how to volunteer.
WAACO also assists nonprofits by providing educational workshops on legal issues commonly facing nonprofits, and by providing attorneys with continuing legal education training on issues unique to nonprofits.
